Alleviating Disparities in Access to MS Care

In this issue:

Multiple sclerosis is a disease that affects people of all genders, races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic status. Why, then, are certain individuals not receiving access to the most effective care? What causes these disparities? And most important, what can be done to alleviate them?

These are some of the issues Dr. Dorlan Kimbrough of the Duke University School of Medicine addresses in this issue of eMultipleSclerosis Review.

Learning objectives:

  • Explain how socioeconomic factors hinder access to care for patients with MS.
  • Describe methods to better facilitate access to care for individuals with MS facing socioeconomic barriers.
