In this issue of eHIV Review, Brian Mustanski, PhD, Professor of Medical Social Sciences Division of Implementation Science and Director of the Third Coast Center for AIDS Research at Northwestern University, discusses the evidence for improving HIV prevention and treatment outcomes among adolescents and young adults. Clinicians need greater awareness that effective prevention and treatment tools already exist, but that closing persistent disparities in youth HIV outcomes depends on patient-centered implementation strategies that address confidentiality concerns, misinformation, and structural and logistical barriers to care.
