Dr. Gregory Diette is a professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds joint appointments in the Departments of Epidemiology and Environmental Health Sciences in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His areas of clinical expertise include asthma and obstructive lung disease.

Dr. Diette earned his M.D. from the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and performed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins. He received his M.H.S. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

His research interests include environmental impacts on lung disease, epidemiology of airway disease and obstructive lung diseases including COPD.

Christine Smith is responsible for following a large group of obstructive lung disease patients in an outpatient setting. She collaborates with Obstructive Lung Disease specialists as well as other departments to assist in providing and coordinating care for these patients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to telephone triage, expediting referrals, preauthorizations, medication refills, education, evaluating for home oxygen needs, and encouraging preventive health maintenance. Also, enlisting assistance from community health worker, home care nurse, and social worker when indicated.

Christine is an active member of COPD Clinical Council and involved with the hospitals ongoing efforts to decrease 30 day readmission rates by facilitating clinic appointments for hospitalized COPD patients so they are seen within 2 weeks of discharge.
